Common faults we repair

MOVIDRIVE, MOVITRAC and MOVIMOT units report numbered faults (F01, F07, F11) on the keypad or DBG. These are the ones we see on the bench most weeks.

  • F01 – overcurrent (short circuit at the output, faulty output stage)
  • F03 – ground fault in the motor, cable or inverter
  • F04 – brake chopper fault (braking resistor circuit)
  • F06 – supply phase failure (three-phase units)
  • F07 – DC link overvoltage (deceleration, braking resistor)
  • F08 – speed monitoring (overload, phase loss, current limit)
  • F11 – overtemperature (fan, heatsink, thermal overload)
  • F31 – TF / TH motor thermistor trip
  • F44 – unit utilisation (I x t) exceeded
  • F94 / F98 – EEPROM checksum and flash CRC errors

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a failed SEW-EURODRIVE drive, inverter, servo drive or automation component can be expensive, particularly when the original model is obsolete or difficult to source. Repairing the existing equipment can be a faster, more cost-effective solution while avoiding unnecessary replacement, reprogramming and commissioning.

  • Repair is also the only option for obsolete and discontinued units, where a like-for-like replacement no longer exists. Where a repair is not economic, we say so and can supply a tested refurbished unit instead.
  • Component-level diagnostics and repair, never board swapping
  • Every repair covered by a 12-month warranty
  • Free fault assessment and a quote within 24 hours of arrival
  • In-house soak and load testing before your unit goes back
  • All major brands and models, including obsolete and discontinued units
  • 24/7 emergency call-outs for production-critical breakdowns
  • Nationwide collection and delivery
  • Fixed-price quotes agreed before any work starts
