Common faults we repair

FREQROL inverters and MELSERVO amplifiers display E. codes on the operator panel. These are the trips we replace or repair most often.

  • E.OC1 / OC2 / OC3 – overcurrent during accel, decel or constant speed
  • E.OV1 / OV2 / OV3 – overvoltage (regenerative energy, braking unit)
  • E.UVT – undervoltage (supply loss, rectifier)
  • E.THT – inverter overload; E.THM – motor overload
  • E.FIN – heatsink overheat (fan failure, airflow)
  • E.GF – ground fault on the output side
  • E.LF – output phase loss
  • E.IPF – instantaneous power failure (soft-charge, bus capacitors)
  • E.OHT – external thermal relay or PTC trip
  • MELSERVO alarms – AL.32 overcurrent, AL.33 overvoltage, AL.50 / AL.51 overload

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a failed Mitsubishi Electric drive, PLC, HMI or automation component can be expensive, particularly when the original equipment is obsolete or difficult to source. Repairing the existing equipment can be a faster, more cost-effective solution while avoiding unnecessary replacement and reprogramming.

  • Repair is also the only option for obsolete and discontinued units, where a like-for-like replacement no longer exists. Where a repair is not economic, we say so and can supply a tested refurbished unit instead.
