What Happens When You Send a Drive In for Repair
20 October 2026 · 2 min read
The process has four steps. We carry out a free fault assessment, send a fixed-price quote within 24 hours of the unit arriving, repair it at component level with a full functional test and burn-in, then return it with a 12-month warranty and a full test report. UK-wide collection and delivery is available.
What to send with the unit
Gather a few details so the engineer starts with the full picture:
- Make, model and serial number from the rating plate
- The fault code or symptom, and when it happens
- What the drive controls, and whether it was working before a power event, a trip or a change
- Photos of the unit and the label, if you have them
The enquiry form on the contact page has a file upload, so you can attach photos or fault logs.
Step 1: Free fault assessment
When the unit arrives, our engineers assess it to find the fault. There is no charge for the assessment.
Step 2: A fixed-price quote within 24 hours of arrival
After assessment you get a transparent, fixed-price quote, sent within 24 hours of the unit arriving. We will match a competitor's price.
Step 3: Component-level repair, test and burn-in
Once you approve the quote, we repair the unit at component level. Depending on the unit, that can include replacing time-degradable parts and repairing power stages, control boards and feedback circuits. The repaired unit is fully functionally tested and burned in before it leaves us. A no-fix, no-fee policy applies to standard and high-priority repairs.
Step 4: Return with a 12-month warranty and test report
The unit comes back with a 12-month warranty and a full test report. UK-wide collection and delivery options are available.
We repair VFDs, servo drives, DC drives, power supplies, PLCs, HMIs, CNC electronics and renewable energy equipment, across brands including ABB, Allen Bradley, Control Techniques, Danfoss, Lenze, Mitsubishi Electric, Parker, Schneider Electric, Siemens and Yaskawa.
